Throughout her nonprofit career, Kate has successfully led multiple strategic planning sessions for start-up boards, managed capital campaigns up to $2M, and developed sustainable organizational structures that balance mission impact with operational excellence.
Kate's background spans both nonprofit and for-profit sectors, giving her a distinctive approach to nonprofit challenges. Drawing from her experience as Chief Cultural Officer at Blue Ridge Bucha (a company she co-owned and operated for 11 years), Kate brings valuable skills in earned revenue generation, operational efficiency, and strategic growth planning to nonprofit organizations seeking diversified funding streams and enhanced sustainability. Under her leadership, Blue Ridge Bucha grew to a team of 20+ people with $1M in annual sales while maintaining strong environmental values that saved over 1 million bottles through its refillable program.
Kate actively supports the broader social impact community through her volunteerism with Community Investment Collaborative (CIC), serving on their Loan Committee and mentoring emerging social entrepreneurs.
